Join the Federal Bar Association Chicago Chapter for an insightful discussion on the value of judicial clerkships with a distinguished panel of federal judges, law clerks, and practitioners. “Why Clerk? Insights from Federal Judges, Law Clerks, and Practitioners” will cover how and why to apply for a clerkship, the benefits of clerking, crafting a competitive application, and what to expect from the experience. Diane Smason, Attorney Advisor to the General Counsel at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, will moderate the event.

Our esteemed panel includes Hon. Candace Jackson-Akiwumi (U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit), Hon. Manish Shah (U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois), Hon. A. Benjamin Goldgar (U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois), Janet Siegel Brown (Director of Judicial Clerkships at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law), and Erica Achepohl (Law Clerk to the Hon. Sunil R. Harjani). This event is co-hosted by the American Constitution Society Chicago Lawyers Chapter and the Federalist Society Chicago Lawyers Chapter.

Attendees will earn 1.5 hours of CLE credit (pending approval). Registration is open until June 25, 2024, at 5:00 PM, and on-site registration will be available if space permits. Please note that a photo ID is required to enter the Dirksen U.S. Courthouse.
