The reception will honor the Federal Bar Association’s National President, Mark Vincent, who will be in Chicago and speaking at the Northern District of Illinois and Chicago Chapter’s Pro Bono Awards Ceremony (no registration required) and the Miranda v. Arizona 50th Anniversary Celebration program (separate, free registration required). The Chapter will also present two awards, the Frank J. McGarr Award and the Milton Gordon Award.
 
Frank J. McGarr Award
The Frank J. McGarr Award for Distinguished Federal Government Service will also be presented to Jean Kamp of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The Chicago Chapter annually presents this award to an attorney for distinguished federal government service. The award is given in the name of the late Chicago Chapter Past President Frank J. McGarr (1921-2012), a U.S. district court judge and former first assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.
 
Milton Gordon Award
The Milton Gordon Award will be presented to an awardee(s) to be named prior to the reception. The Chicago Chapter annually presents this award to an attorney for distinguished federal government service by an attorney under 40 years old. The award is given in the name of the late Milton Gordon, a distinguished attorney who spent his career in service to state and local governments.
