Inherit the Wind
The event will feature clips from the 1960 classic “Inherit the Wind” starring Spencer Tracy and Frederic March. The movie is a fictionalized account of the 1925 Scopes Trial, in which John T. Scopes was prosecuted and convicted under Tennessee law for teaching evolution in the classroom.

Presentation of the Walter J. Cummings Award
Thomas Geraghty, Northwestern Law School 
At the event, the Walter J. Cummings Award for distinguished pro bono service will be presented to Professor Thomas Geraghty of Northwestern Law School.
The Chicago Chapter presents this award annually to an attorney for excellence in pro bono service. This year, the recipient was nominated by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The award is given in the name of longtime chapter board member and judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the late Walter J. Cummings.
