Research shows that readers read differently on electronic screens than they do on paper. An increasing number of judges read our submissions electronically, either some or all of the time. In an engaging presentation, attorney Robert Dubose explores the latest research on this change in reading habits, its implication for both legal writers and readers, and tips based on web research and design for better communicating in today’s electronic environment.

Robert Dubose is a partner in the Houston office of the appellate law firm, Alexander Dubose & Townsend, L.L.P. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Robert has taught courses at the University of Houston Law Center, including Appellate Advocacy and Insurance Appeals. He is editor and co-author of the book Texas Practitioner’s Guide to Civil Appeals, and the author of the book, Legal Writing for the Rewired Brain: Persuading Readers in a Paperless World.
